Midnight Blend Cherry Almond Cake Recipe & Submit Your Own Recipe!

Midnight Blend Cherry Almond Cake

1 cup of sour cream
1 package of french vanilla cake mix (Betty Crocker or your favorite)
3 eggs
1 cup Sweetwaters Midnight Blend brewed coffee (brewed strong)
1 can cherry pie filling
½ cup of almond slices

Powdered Sugar Glaze

1/3 cup butter
2 cups powdered sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
2-4 tablespoons water

Preparation for glaze:
Melt butter in a saucepan. Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla. Add water, 1 tablespoon at a time, and mix until smooth and of desired consistency (a thick syrup). If your glaze isn’t thick enough, add more powdered sugar. Drizzle over cooled cake.

1) Combine the cake mix, sour cream, egg, and coffee together.

2) Pour into greased baking tin.  Use either a loaf pan or a rectangle pan.

3) Drop spoon-fulls of cherry pie filling onto the mix.

4) For a loaf pan, bake at 325 degrees for approx. 40  minutes or until golden.
For a rectangular pan, bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until golden.

5) When the cake cools completely drizzle glaze on top.

6) Sprinkle with almond slices.
