Pete started as a customer and eventually began working in Sweetwaters. It was here that he served Lesley coffee and then later married her. Pete and Lesley’s story is one of many romantic happenings that The Ann Arbor Observer has found at Sweetwaters. With our comfortable ambiance, perhaps there is a little something special in the air that brings people together. Among many more examples, Kathie, reading the New York Times one day, was approached in the café by another customer Dan. The next thing you know, they got married in the café itself.
